Today, 35 of our students accompanied by Mr Murray, Mr Brady, Mr Poacher and placement student Mr Jordan attended the unveiling of former Spurs, Arsenal, Newry Legend and former St Joseph's Newry student Mr Pat Jennings.
Pat who made 119 appearances for Northern Ireland played over 1000 games at senior level in a career spanning over 22 years at the top level of the game.
Pat was said to have been super proud of our St Joseph's boys giving him a guard of honour and our boys represented the school and community of Newry impeccably all day.
Highlight of the day though was the speech given by our head boy Leigh Fulton. Young Leigh delivered a speech well beyond his young years to the impressive array of sporting personalities and the massive Newry crowd that had gathered in attendance.
A really proud day for Pat and his family and as a school community we are so honoured and privileged to have been a part of it. Well done boys.
