To kick off World Book Day for 2024, Bright Umbrella Production Company travelled from Belfast to perform their version of Macbeth.
Year 10 and English Literature students in Yr11 & Yr12 were invited to be the audience to view “The Scottish Play.” After a 70 minute perfomance on our stage, the boys were then invited to participate in a question and answer session with the actors. Many questions were asked about the play and some about Shakespeare’s writing in general. Let’s hope we have sparked some English Literature enthusiasts amongst the crowd!
We were also delighted to welcome back past pupil Neil Heaney who performed with the cast, and the pupils asked him many questions on how a young man from Newry can become involved in acting 🎭
This was a wonderful experience for the boys to become immersed in theatre from the comfort of their own assembly hall.
